Senior Staff & Associates
Amitav Rath has over fifteen years experience in the design, management and
evaluation of large and complex development projects. He has a Ph.D. from
Berkeley, California, is trained in both management and economics, and has
worked extensively in the areas of economics, technology, energy and environment
policy. He has worked in training, research and policy making institutions and
in the private sector, in India, Jamaica, Canada and the United States. As a
manager of the programs on Energy Policy, Science and Technology Policy and
Institutional Development he has designed, developed and managed over one
hundred projects and has conducted research and policy analysis in most
countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. As the Director of PRI he provides
valuable input in the areas of management and systems expertise, experience of
policy, research and analysis in economics, energy, environment and social
policy issues in all projects. He has worked as a consultant for several UN
agencies, the World Bank, OECD, CIDA, IDRC and the Commonwealth Secretariat. He
has recently completed work on energy technology needs in four countries and has
been selected on standing offers on education and environment policy. Languages :
English, Hindi, and Bengali; French, and Spanish (reading only).
Elizabeth Driscoll is trained in both Social Sciences and Health Policy with
a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Administration. She has worked
extensively in Canada, United States, India and Central America. She has worked
on projects on family planning, women's health projects, primary health care,
child health and on environment and health. She has recently completed work
developing a set of health indicators of pollution in the Great Lakes for the
Canada US Bilateral Commission and is currently working on a Canadian and
international project to increase community participation, especially by youth,
on health issues. Languages: English, and French.
Richard A. Maclure has over 20 years experience in the field of education as
both an educator and an education researcher. He has worked for IDRC as a
Program Manager where he monitored and developed education research projects in
Africa. He has worked for PLAN International as an administrator of an NGO rural
development program in West Africa. He has a Ph.D. in Education from Stanford
University and a Master's from the Norman Patterson School of International
Affairs at Carleton University. Dr. Maclure contributes his experience to
projects focusing on education and human resource development, in West Africa
and Central America. Languages : English and French.
